What would I be doing?

As a Business Development Manager, you will play a vital role in the company by selling sponsorship (virtual & in-person), exhibition space, and digital licenses for their portfolio of B2B conferences in the renewables sector.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying potential clients, prospecting through; LinkedIn, email campaigns, telephone, video calls.
  • Managing a sales pipeline, conducting face-to-face meetings with senior management, and successfully closing sales.
  • You’ll work closely with the research and marketing teams to generate leads and develop new sales opportunities.
  • Occasionally, international travel may be required to attend competitor trade shows and key events.

 

What would they expect from me?

They are looking for a highly motivated individual with a proven track record in sponsorship sales.

  • You should have a minimum of 2 years of sales experience, including at least 1 year selling sponsorship for B2B, senior-level business events.
  • A clear understanding of the sales process, pipeline management, and the ability to provide quantitative reporting to management are key requirements.
  • Proficiency in using sales software such as Salesforce or Goldmine, as well as experience in selling to non-UK (global) markets, will be highly valued. Additionally, being a self-starter and self-reliant will contribute to your success.

 

What qualifications and experience do I need?

  • Proven track record as a successful salesperson with excellent sales figures
  • Minimum 2 years of sales experience (with at least 1 year at the same company) selling sponsorship for B2B, senior-level business conferences.
  • Clear understanding of the sales process and pipeline management.
  • Ability to build and manage a sales pipeline and provide quantitative reporting.
  • Experience using sales software such as Salesforce, Goldmine, etc.
  • Successful experience selling to non-UK (global) markets.
  • Self-starter and self-reliant mindset.

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Proficiency in additional languages such as Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, or Italian
  • Experience with CRM systems like Salesforce
  • Previous experience in the sustainability and renewable energy sectors
